I've decided which direction I want to take my art in for the duration of this art block I've been in. I'm going to become a base artist. The only thing impeding me from creating a base account right now and posting some I have already prepared is that my school's IP is banned from the "create an account" page. I'm glad that the school's not banned from ALL of DA. As soon as I can get home, or get someone else to create the account for me, I'll have one all set.

Because I'm kind of excited for it, I'm going to post my mission statement here.

I've noticed two things about the dolling community on deviantART.
>There is a distinct lack of male bases.
>The majority of popular bases have been traced without permission from various anime artists or screen shots, most commonly Lucky*Star.

I find this infuriating for the following reason. What's worse about it is, I've had things I've dolled on other people's bases deleted for "art theft" when the link I had to the base artist's personal website broke. And yet, people can go around blatantly tracing popular art and redistributing it for others to doll on without repercussion?

In an attempt to improve the community, I'm dedicating this new account to providing ORIGINAL bases. This account will feature predominantly male bases, because the last thing this website's dolling community needs is another shojou-eyed girl standing in a generic pose. The bases will be traced, yes, from my own existing work or from the work of consenting/volunteer artists, who will be properly credited.
